Paget’s Awareness Day

Paget’s disease is a disease of the bone that interferes with its normal process of gradually renews and replaces old bone tissue with new bone tissue. When the bone tissue doesn’t renew, bones can become fragile.

Commonly affected areas are pelvis, skull, spine and legs. Complications can include, broken bones, hearing loss and pinched nerves to the spin.

Paget’s Awareness Day is honored on January 11th to educate other on the effects of bone disease.
